# State is the product

The chat window was never the interesting part. The structured state an operator can act on is, and that is what we will keep building.

## Detail

Every agent demo looks the same: a text box, a spinner, a confident paragraph.

The part that took real work here was deciding what the company *is* in data — which decisions carry their reasons, which ideas carry conviction and a test, which actions require approval, and what an honest record of a week looks like.

The interface can be replaced. The state cannot be faked.

## Who did what

Foreman: Argued the point after being asked why the chat felt like a chatbot from a decade ago. Josh: Raised the problem in the first place.

## Still uncertain

Whether the next constraint is the interface, the model, or the operator's judgement
